NCoS: 76 Prison Inmates Bag NCE

76 inmates of Old Abeokuta Custodial Center, Ibara, Ogun State graduated from Yewa Central College of Education (YCCE), while Eighteen 18 others were enrolled to study various courses.

In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Prof Bamigbose, the provost of the College, commended Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) for shinning light into the darkness of the inmates through good Educational policies.

Earlier in his remarks, the Controller of the State Command, MOJEED OLANIRAN said that NCoS has been turned into a full fledged reformation institution with the enactment of NCoS Act, 2019

He noted that the Service is poised to collaborate with individuals and organisations for the reformation of the inmates in it’s custody. He admonished the inmates to make good use of the opportunity presented to them by the Service to become better citizens.

The center, with the support of Hospital and Prisons Welfare Initiatives (HPWI) and Kuta Art Community, Non government Organizations has trained 32 inmates in the production of Adire , Kampala, Batik, tie and dye and Splash.
