After the death of 23 Persons, NAF Aircraft Eliminate Scores Bandits in Kaduna LGAs

After the death of 23 Persons, NAF Aircraft Eliminate Scores Bandits in Kaduna LGAs

Nigerian Airforce (NAF) aircraft have pursued and eliminated several armed bandits terrorising various local government areas in Kaduna State.

The aerial attacks came after the Kaduna government confirmed the killing of 23 persons by the bandits in various communities in the state.

The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs confirmed the development in his two press releases he issued today.

Scores of bandits neutralized in air missions across Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Kachia and Chikun LGAs

Air platforms conducted armed reconnaissance over Chikun, Kusasu, Gadani, Gadani Station, Kwafe, Kuduru, Kugo, Dakolo, Kudame, Abulo, Gidan Amale, Beni, Akilbu, Polewaya, Rijana and Rugu in Kachia and Chikun local government areas.

Nearly a dozen bandits with herds of cattle were sighted at Rugu, fleeing from the fighter jet. They were engaged and neutralized. Other locations covered were reported as calm.

In a second mission, the following locations were covered: Rahama, Tami, Sabon Birni, Galadimawa, Fatika, Sabuwa, Kutemeshi, Sabon Kuyello, Dogon Dawa, Kaya, Damari, Ngade Allah, and adjoining settlements.

Following reports of bandits movement around Sabon Kuyello, probing shots were fired into the forest. No unusual activities were observed thereafter.

A similar mission was carried out over Baba Doka, Sabon Madada, Goron Dutse and environs. Bandits were sighted in a convoy of motorcycles moving from Baba Maichoko, and were swiftly engaged and neutralized.

Furthermore, following reports of bandits’ activities at Ungwan Gajere village where ten citizens had been earlier killed, missions were conducted over Kutemeshi, Sabon Kuyello, Dogon Dawa and adjoining settlements. Bandits were sighted at different locations within Gajere, and were neutralized in the forested locations.

Finally, armed reconnaissance was conducted over Rigasa, Faka, Kawuri, Kusasu, Chikun, Gwagwada, Gadani, Gadani Station, Kugo, Kugosi, Tawalli, Kofa, Sarkin Pawa, Sarkin Pawa-Polewire road and environs.

All locations covered were reported calm, and contact was established with ground troops at Sarkin Pawa.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai received the operational feedback with thanks, and commended the troops and fighter jet crews for relentless missions across the identified locations.

Further vigorous ground and air patrols will continue in the general area.

Again, Armed Bandits kill 23 persons in Kaduna Local Government Areas

Following the security situation across the state within the last 24 hours, the Kaduna State Government has received reports from security agencies of the killing of 23 citizens in different attacks on soft targets in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Chikun, Igabi and Kauru local government areas.

The attacks on soft targets in these local government areas occurred around Kaduna state’s boundaries with neighboring states.

In Birnin Gwari LGA, 10 citizens were killed by bandits in an attack on Ungwan Gajere, Kutemeshi ward. They are:

Abdu Hasan
Sufyanu Musa
Faisal Zubairu
Abdullahi Hasan
Ali Abdu
Rabiu Aliyu
Zubairu Yau
Bukar Yusuf
Mamman Ibrahim
Dankande Musa

The following were injured in the attack:
Baushi Alu
Rabe Sani
Usama Sani

In Igabi local government area, bandits shot dead one Dayyabu Yahuza between Sarkin Baka and Dankyawai village, near Gidan Kurmi.

In Giwa local government area, armed bandits invaded Janbaba village, one Yakubu Sule was shot dead.

In Kishisho village, Kauru local government area, gunmen suspected to be from a neighboring state killed five persons, listed as:

Danlami Sunday
Abbas Abou
Sati Yakubu
Shaba John
John Francis

In Chikun local government area, five citizens were killed by bandits in Gwagwada-Kasaya village in Kunai ward. They are:

Habila Ibrahim
Samaila Audu
John Musa
Birnin Aboki
Ali Aboki

Similarly, in Agwa, Chikun LGA, one Bitrus Joseph was shot dead in an attack by bandits.

Also in Chikun local government area, one bandit was killed near Bugai, when members of the community repelled an attack.

Receiving the reports, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressed sadness over the attacks.

The Governor sent his condolences to the families that lost their loved ones. He offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the slain, and a speedy recovery for the injured.

As of the time of this security update, the air platforms of the Nigerian Air Force are trailing and engaging bandits in some locations in Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Giwa and Igabi LGAs, and citizens will be briefed upon the receipt of operational feedback.

Governor El-Rufai is wishing the military success in the ongoing operation as he awaits reports.
