Niger Police Recover Weapons from Bandits, Fault Reports on Fresh Abduction of 50 Passengers
The anti-kidnapping taskforce of the Nigeria Police has nabbed some suspects and recovered arms and ammunitions from bandits terrorising some parts of Niger State.
PRNigeria gathered that some of the recovered weapons and suspects would soon be paraded.
Meanwhile the State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, has denied reports that another set of passengers have been kidnapped in the State.
50 passengers were said to have been abducted on Tuesday, by armed bandits.

They were alleged to be travelling along the Tegina-Minna road in Rafi local government, said some media reports.
But in a phone chat with PRNigeria, Usman, who described the news story as fake, said he had plied the particular road yesterday, on a condolence visit to Kagara town.
According to him, the road is relatively ‘safe’ as no incident of such has been recorded on the axis.
He urged the media to always cross check their facts, to avoid disseminating fake news.
The Niger CP further disclosed that combat operations are ongoing to rid the State of crimes, adding that some bandits and criminals already arrested will soon be paraded.
