IEDPU Mourns Death of Col Lawal Ishola

IEDPU Mourns Death of Col Lawal Ishola

The death of Colonel Lawal Babatunde Ishola has been described as an irreparable loss to the people of Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.

This assertion was made in Ilorin on Thursday by the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,while reacting to the death of the retired senior military tactician and statesman,who died yesterday at the age of 72.

Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed on his behalf by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, paid glowing tributes to Colonel Ishola for what he called “his multidimensional contributions towards the peace and progress of Ilorin Emirate”,saying that the ex-war lord died at a time when his wealth of experience was more needed to combat security challenges facing the country.

Alhaji Uthman recalled the glowing services of the deceased to his community and the entire nation as a brave military officer as he said that the memory of Colonel Ishola would linger on for a very long time not only in the minds of his relations and associates but also in those of his compatriots and colleagues from all over the country.

The Union commiserated with the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,CFR, on the loss of a great son and exemplary citizen. The Union also sympathised with his relations, friends and colleagues on the death of a dear compatriot.

Alhaji Uthman prayed Allah to grant the late officer and gentleman Al-Janat Fridaouz and those he left behind the fortitude to bear his demise.
