Nigerian Troops Eliminate Bandits, Repel Attacks in Kaduna Communities
Nigerian Military neutralizes four identified bandits, several others
Following the ongoing military operations against armed bandits, and painstaking human intelligence checks, it has been confirmed that four notorious bandits were neutralized in a valley popularly known as ‘Maikwandaraso’ in Igabi local government area.
According to the reports, the four identified bandits were neutralized via air interdictions when the military engaged the bandits at the location, as part of combined ground and air assaults on identified bandit enclaves.
The bandits neutralized were identified as follows:
– Alili Bandiro
– Dayyabu Bala
– Bala Nagwarjo
– Sulele Bala
Several other bandits were eliminated in the same cycle of air interdictions and ground offensives.
Maikwandaraso is close to Karshi village, and shares boundaries with the infamous Kawara and Malul forests in the same Igabi LGA, which have been identified as the hub of several armed bandit camps and hideouts.
Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed his satisfaction at the development, and thanked the military for their concerted efforts at ridding the identified areas of armed bandits.

The Governor commended the troops and personnel involved in the successful strikes, and encouraged them to sustain the tempo of operations towards a comprehensive sweep of all hideouts.

Troops repel attack in Zangon Kataf LGA
-Three attackers neutralized, others escaped with bullet wounds
-arms and ammunition recovered
The military and police have reported to the Kaduna State Government an attack on troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), the Special Forces of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as residents in Zango Urban, Zangon Kataf local government area.
The assailants carried out the attack in the early hours of Saturday.
The troops engaged the attackers, effectively repelling them and neutralizing three in the process. Others escaped with gunshot injuries.
Five houses and three cars were set ablaze during the attack. A 9-year-old resident, Salisu Abbas, was burnt beyond recognition. Another, 15-year-old Faisal Abdullahi, suffered serious burns.
The troops recovered the following items from the area: One locally made rifle, one smoke grenade, 33 empty cartridges, 16 live cartridges, 25 empty cases of AK-47 ammunition, 8 live rounds of AK47 ammunition, one live pistol round, and some machine gun links.
Troops are sustaining vigorous patrols in the area to forestall further attacks, as investigations into the attack are ongoing.
