Cholera: Kanwan Katsina Meets Village Heads, Stresses on Environmental Hygiene
Communities in Ketare District of Kankara Local Government Area in Katsina State, have been advised to ensure proper personal and environmental hygiene, at all times, to protect themselves from the outbreak of Cholera and other related diseases.
Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, made the call during a meeting with village heads in his palace in Ketare.

He directed all the village heads, Imams and community leaders to organize and intensify public enlightenment campaigns to ensure adequate personal and environmental hygiene in their respective communities.
The District Head emphasized the need for the communities to avoid open defecation, clean toilets and wash their hands before eating and after using the toilets.
Alhaji Bello Kankara implored his people to boil any kind of water before drinking, cook their food well, wash fruits before eating and cover their food to prevent flies from perching on them.
The Kanwan Katsina also advised the communities to report any suspected case of cholera outbreak to the nearest healthcare center for prompt action.
“Nursing mothers should always present their children for routine immunization,” he said.
