NEMA plants Trees on World Humanitarian Day 2021

As part of activities to mark the 2021 world humanitarian day the CCCM sector donated 500 seedlings to the Borno state Government through the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA. The seedlings were presented by the Zonal coordinator NEMA North East to Dr Mairo Mandara Special Adviser and Coordinator Sustainable Development, partnerships and humanitarian Support to the Executive Governor of Borno State.

Following the presentation of the seedlings, Officials of NEMA led by the Zonal coordinator NEMA North East Wagami Lydia Madu who Represented the Director General NEMA Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed Habib in a tree planting campaign as parts of activities to mark The 2021 World Humanitarian Day scheduled Every year on 19th of August with this year’s theme focusing on

THE IMMEDIATE HUMAN COST OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS.

The aim is to take meaningful climate action for the world’s most vulnerable people against climate change.
500 seedlings consisting of
Mango, cashew and oranges where planted by NEMA,BOSEMA representatives,UNHCR and IOM CCCM sector in Internally Displaced person’s camps and an orphanage Learning Centre being run by North East Children’s Trust (NECT) in Maiduguri Borno state.
The beneficiaries of the gesture appreciated the efforts and promised to ensure that the trees are properly taken care of.
