On the 19th of August, 2021 at about 1830hrs, a distress call was received that on the same date and time, unknown gunmen numbering eight suspected to be kidnappers stormed the residence of one Alabi Segun of Ilefon Street, Iye-Ekit, captured him and whisked him away in a Toyota Camry car to an unknown location.
It was gathered that the suspected kidnappers, after a while, started calling through a particular GSM number and demanding for ransom from the victim’s family.
Upon the receipt of the information, the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) swung into action, trailed the suspected kidnappers to their hideouts and on sighting the RRS operatives, the suspected kidnappers took to their heels, abandoning the victim and two Toyota Camry Cars. The victim was rescued and the Two abandoned cars recovered while effort is ongoing to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, *CP TUNDE MOBAYO,* while commending the swift response and efforts of the operatives of the RRS and other operatives of the Command, implores everyone to be vigilant and supply timely and credible information to the security operatives that will lead to the arrest of criminal elements in the State.
In another development on the 20th of August, 2021 at about 2330hrs the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) received a credible tip off that a group of hoodlums suspected to be armed robbers were in Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti.

The Rapid Response Squad(RRS), upon the receipt of the information, swung into action and mobilized to the scene which is one of the known blackspots in Ado-Ekiti. On sighting the operatives, the hoodlums took to their heels but eventually, one of them identified as Ojo Fadeyi Femi was arrested.
The scene was searched and items such as 43 wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 40 wraps of white powder suspected to be cocaine, two sharp cutlasses and fifty two thousand seven hundred and fifty naira (52,750) were recovered.
