Police Parade Female Gunrunners, Kidnappers, Car-Snatching Syndicate

Men of the Nigerian Police have arrested two female gunrunners, who ferry guns to a criminal syndicate.

It was learnt that the syndicate specializes in kidnapping and robbery activities around Lafia and Abuja axis.

PRNigeria gathered that the female suspects, Aisha Ibrahim and Hafsat Adamu’s role, was to traffic guns and deliver to the point of operation for the criminal gang, whenever the need arise.

“We were given guns to traffic sometimes from Lafia to Kaduna which I delivered successfully to one Babangida, a member of the gang,” 30-year old Aisha, was quoted as saying.

On her part, Hafsat, admitted to transporting guns from Kujama junction to Kaduna, which she hid inside a box as directed by one Suleiman, a member of the syndicate.

The Police also paraded another criminal gang, specializing in car theft in Kano, Kaduna, and Jigawa States, and later transporting them to neighbouring countries of Niger, Cameroon and Chad, for rebranding and subsequent selling.

Items recovered from the syndicate include two-car jammers, which aid in blocking all forms of cellular transmission and deactivate vehicle tracking devices, in order to avoid detection.

The suspects, 32 males and 2 females, were paraded by the Police Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, at the Force Headquarters, in Abuja, today.
