Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria Elects MultiChoice CEO, John Ugbe, as BON Chairman

Chief Executive Officer, Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, has been elected the Chairman of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria.

He defeated Sir. Godfrey Ohuabunwa of Multimesh Limited by 63 to 35 votes in a keenly contested election at the Coronation Hall of the Kano State Government House, Kano.

The election was part of the 75th General Assembly and 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BON.

The chairman of the committee, Shola Omole while declared the results.

He said the total vote cast by the delegates from across the country were 98.

“With these figures, John Ugbe of  Multichoice has been duly elected as the next Chairman of BON,” said Mr. Omole.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of BON, Mr.  Ugbe said he would reach out to every member of the organization and bring them together to move the organization to a greater height.

“I thank everyone for voting me and I will do everything to make the organization a strong one for the benefit of all.”

“As I said during the manifesto, I will vigorously pursue the issue of capacity building for all members for them to be well trained and equipped for emerging issues in the broadcast industry,” he added.

The election was held at the Coronation Hall, government house Kano, the venue for the 75th Assembly of the organization.
