NSCDC Presents Bank Cheques to Injured Personnel, Officers’ Widows
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Tuesday, disbursed over 40 bank cheques to its serving and retired officers and men injured in the line of duty.
The para-military organisation also handed out various amounts of cheques to the widows, and other next-of-kins of its deceased personnel.
Controller General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, anchored the presentation during the NSCDC ‘Quarterly Commandant General’s Conference’.

He said the selected beneficiaries are among many NSCDC officers who sustained injury, while others died in the process of discharging their duties of protecting lives and properties.
According to Audi, some of the beneficiaries are widows and relatives of slain officers, victims of road accidents, and gun shot by terrorists, kidnappers and armed bandits during combat operations.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Olufunsho Alabi, in a goodwill remark, underscored the need for intensive training programmes for personnel of the corps to enhance their professionalism, and capacity to tackle contemporary security threats.
PRNigeria reports that some of the beneficiaries got 483,000; 350,000; 250,000; and 200,000, among other amounts.
