Nigerian Army Commences Screening for Best Candidates for Recruitment in Falgore Forest

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, has said only the best candidates who are medically and physically fit will be recruited into the Nigerian Army (NA).

The COAS gave the assurance when he visited the Nigerian Army Battle Fitness Centre (NABFC) in Falgore, Kano State, where the ongoing screening exercise for 82 Regular Recruit Intake is being conducted.

Lt Gen Yahaya charged the recruitment officers to leverage on the experience garnered from the previous recruitment exercises to improve upon the conduct of the ongoing recruitment and ensure that the goals of the exercise are not compromised.

Gen Yahaya also assured them of equipping the centre with more training aids and facilities to further enhance training at the centre.

The Director Manpower Planning, Maj Gen Umar Musa, while briefing the COAS, pointed out, that over 3,800 candidates are currently undergoing screening at the centre, adding that the main goal of the exercise is to recruit young and physically fit Nigerians to fill the manpower needs of the NA.

The COAS also took a tour of the centre during which he inspected completed as well as ongoing projects at the centre. Gen Yahaya also interacted with the candidates and left them with some words of encouragement.
Accompanying the COAS during the visit ate the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Maj Gen Kabiru Muhktar, Chief of Administration (Army) Maj Gen Usman Mohammed, Chief of Operations Maj Gen Olumide Akinjobi, Provost Marshal (Army) Maj Gen Robert Aiyenigba and the Chief of Military Intelligence (Army) Maj Gen Ibrahim Salihu

NATIONAL SECURITY: COAS INTERFACES WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN KANO, VISITS GOVERNOR, EMIR

In a continuous effort to improve security in the country, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya today 26 January, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

Speaking at the Government House Kano, Gen Yahaya stated that he was in the state on a working visit to 3 Brigade Kano and Nigerian Army Battle Fitness Centre (NABFC) Falgore, where the ongoing 82 Regular Recruit Intake screening exercise into the Nigerian Army (NA) is being conducted.

He expressed appreciation of the Nigerian Army to the Government and people of Kano state for their support to NA formations and Units in Kano state, particularly, NABFC in Falgore forest. He added, that the facility has become a veritable training ground for troops of the NA and potential recruits.

Governor Ganduje in his remarks commended the COAS for his sterling leadership qualities in the command and administration of the NA. He pledged his continuous support to the NA and gave assurance of commencement of phase II of the state government’s support to NABFC.

In a similar development, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero has called on all well-meaning Nigerians to throw their weight behind the Nigerian Army and other security agencies tackling the security challenges bedeviling the nation. The Royal father made the clarion call, while receiving the COAS at his palace in Kano. He pointed out that citizens engagement and support are crucial for operational success. He commended the Nigerian Army for the sacrifices and relentless efforts of its troops in the pursuit of peace and security in Kano and the nation in general.

The Royal father also offered prayers for troops of the NA, as well as other security agencies, especially those who lost their lives in the fight against insurgency and other criminalities in the country.

The COAS was accompanied on the visit by the Chief of Operations (Army), Maj Gen Olufemi Akinjobi, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Kabiru Muhktar, Provost Marshal (Army) Maj Gen Robert Aiyenigba and Chief of Military Intelligence Maj Gen Ibrahim Salihu.

COAS COMMISSIONS MULTIPLE PROJECTS IN JANGUZA BARRACKS … Commends Troops of 3 Brigade

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya has commissioned multiple projects in Janguza Barracks, Kano. The newly completed projects, which include 72 units of Corporals and Below Quarters (CBQ), 30 units of Single Officers’ Quarters (SOQ) and 5 blocks of Company Offices and training shades were officially inaugurated today 26 January 2022 during COAS’ maiden working tour of 3 Brigade area of responsibility.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, General Yahaya stated that the visit is in tandem with his command philosophy, to enable him interact with troops and obtain first hand information that will enhance his command and administration of the Nigerian Army (NA). Gen Yahaya disclosed that the dearth of personnel accommodation in the NA is receiving adequate and prompt attention with the construction of befitting accomodations across formations and units of the NA, adding that the welfare of personnel is paramount to his command.

During the working tour, the Commander 3 Brigade, Brigadier General Sinyinah Nicodemus gave the COAS a brief on the Operational engagements and security situation in the Brigade’s area of responsibility. The COAS in his appraisal, commended troops of the Brigade for discharging their duties with diligence.

The COAS was accompanied during the visit by principal staff officers from Army Headquarters and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Kabiru Muhktar.
