Alumni Body to Develop Framework for Implementing NIPSS’ Research

The Alumni Association of National Institute (AANI) will soon develop a ‘Coordination Framework’ for the implementation of research findings and recommendations from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies

(NIPSS).

A former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, stated this in his address at the 42nd ‘Annual General Meeting’ (AGM) of AANI, in Abuja.

The event was themed, “Repositioning AANI for Greater Effectiveness’.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar, and Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were among eminent guests at the meeting.

Dahiru Abubakar, who is the President of AANI, explained that the framework would sensitize and build the capacity of government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), parliamentarians, the judiciary, development partners, professional groups, and the general public, among others, towards mainstreaming the implementation of NIPPS recommendations, by responsible government agencies.

He disclosed that their alumni association has a broad objective of working with relevant stakeholders towards building a better Nigerian society.

“As part of this effort, AANI Exco is currently engaging effectively with government and other stakeholders for the establishment of a Technical Working Group to develop the framework and the appointment of an AANI member, by the government, as a focal point for monitoring the implementation of NIPSS recommendations by the relevant government MDAs,’ the AANI boss said.
