MNJTF Forces Kill Dozen Terrorists as ISWAP Massacre 9 Boko Haram Fighters in Another Rival ‘Battle’

Troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Cameroon on Wednesday neutralised scores of Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, terrorists in Amchide, a town in the North East.

But as the MNJTF troops were pounding terrorists at Amchide, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, ISWAP fighters were busy killing some Boko Haram insurgents in another violent clash between members of the two sects in Abadam.

The bloody rivalry between terrorists of the Abubakar Shekau-led Boko Haram and ISWAP occured on Tuesday evening.

It however, left nine insurgents dead, PRNigeria learnt.

This was less than 48-hours after some ISWAP fighters attacked another set of Boko Haram terrorists in Dikwa town, killing 17 of them.

It was gathered that the ISWAP criminals staged an ambushed against their rival Boko Haram terrorists at Yauma Wango village, which triggered a fierce gun battle.

“The ISWAP fighters were said to have overpowered the Boko Haram guys, killing many of them and seizing their weapons, gun trucks and motorcycles,” a local vigilante source confirmed to PRNigeria.

Recalled that the continued rift and hostility between the two terrorist groups was exacerbated by the killing of a senior ISWAP Commander, Abou Sadiqou Buorubouru, and several other fighters, in an ambush launched by Boko Haram in the fringes of Mandara Mountain.

Speaking on the operation that killed scores of ISWAP – Boko Haram fighters on Wednesday, an intelligence officer of the MNJTF, told PRNigeria that some insurgents had stormed the Nigeria-Cameroon border town of Amchide, on five gun trucks and motorcycles.

According to the officer, the terrorists were on a mission to dislodged their troops’ formation and cause havoc.

But PRNigeria learnt that some Camerounian troops stationed at the location effectively suppressed the invading insurgents and killed many of them.

Credible sources also confirmed that the terrorists lost one of their gun trucks which was destroyed by MNJTF troops.

The troops also recovered one additional Hilux truck mounted with an anti-aircraft gun belonging to the ISWAP – Boko Haram criminals.
