NEMA Distributes Reliefs to Victims of Communal Clashes in Taraba
The National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) distributed building materials and food stuff as relief to victims of communual crisis in Karim Lamido, Ardo Kola, and Lau local government areas in Taraba.
Mr Mustapha Habib, Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), while flagging off the distribution in Maraban Kunini, Lau LGA, said that the items would be shared amongst 300 households.
Habib, who was represented by Mr Ladan Ayuba Head of NEMA, Yola Operations Office in charge of Adamawa andTaraba, advises beneficiaries to judiciously use the relief materials for the intent they were made for.
He also advised them not to sell those items to marchants, adding that the purpose for the provision of the items was for them to serve as succor to victims of crisis in the area.

He eulogized victims to maintain peace among them and support government peace building processes.
He listed the items donated by NEMA as roofing shits, cement, nails, rice,beans, vegetable oil, and tomato paste, among many other items.
The director general also hinted that the distribution of the relief materials was sequel to request by Mr Danladi Baido, House of Representatives Member representing the Karim Lamido, Ardo Kola and Lau Federal constituency at the lower chamber.
Habib gave assurance that the items would get to the original targeted victims of the crisis in the area.
Speaking, Mrs Hanatu Ishaya, one of the beneficiaries from Lau local government area thanked Federal government for the kind gesture.
Ishaya said that the items would enable them to return to their original homes.
Also, Mr John Saidu, another beneficiary from Ardo Kola. Thanked Hon Baido and FGN for the assistance.
Saidu said that the relief materials would go a long way in ameliorating their hardships.
recalls that affected local governments were plunged into communal crisis, which rendered several of them homeless.
