NSCDC Nabs Rail Line Vandals in Enugu

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Enugu State Command in league with the Garrison Command, 82 Division Nigerian Army, Enugu have arrested a Six-man gang specializing in vandalizing rail line materials.
Disclosing this in his office at Enugu, the State Commandant Afrika Ezenyimulu said that the arrest was made possible owing to series of intelligence synergy between the Corps and the Nigerian Army.
Commandant Afrika further revealed that the suspects who gave their names and details are as follows: Zakari Ishaka (Male,25 Katsina), Amadu Danladi (Male,40, kano), Abdulkareem Haruna (Male, 19, Katsina), Ousman idris (Male, 19, kano), Musa Hamza (Male, 23, Kano) and Arma Yau Magaji (Male, 42, Katsina) were arrested on the 2nd day of April 2022 at Ubahu Community Around Owo Road leading to Osisatech Polytechnic Emene in Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State.
According to him, the suspects who were arrested after a sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering were at the time of arrest conveying the vandalized railway slippers belonging to the Nigeria Railway Corporation Eastern District Enugu, in a truck with registration number BSA 189 XA.
He informed that the suspects were arrested by Men of the Nigerian Army following a tip off.
Items recovered from the suspects include: Some sizeable quantity of Rail slippers and Rail tracks cut to size and other Railway materials, and a truck with registration *BSA 189 XA.*
The suspects have been aiding in investigations which has been intensified by the Corps to unravel other culprits and sponsors in this unholy trade.
Commandant Afrika also reemphasized the resolve of the Corps in the State to deal decisively with those vandalizing or tampering with government infrastructure.
On a final note, the State Commandant reminded members of the public that they play a crucial role in assisting security agencies with credible information on activities of criminal elements in the State.
