Qatar, Inuwa Foundations Bankroll Eye Surgery, Distribute Medicated Glasses to 486 in Jigawa

Qatar, Inuwa Foundations Bankroll Eye Surgery, Distribute Medicated Glasses to 486 in Jigawa

No fewer than 486 people with cataracts have benefited from free eye surgery, together with medicines and eye glasses, in Jigawa State.

The project, sponsored by Qatar Foundation in collaboration with Malam Inuwa Foundation, was held at the Gumel General Hospital.

At least 200 persons out of the entire 486 received free eye glasses.

Then, about 286 people were given free medicines after a medical examination had detected their eye defects.

Some of the patients expressed their happiness and gratitude for the free eye service, while speaking to PRNigeria.

The Mallam Inuwa Foundation, which was initiated and sponsored by Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA also offered free eye treatments to a lot of people with sight defects in Jigawa State.

The medical outreach sponsored by the Inuwa Foundation is in collaboration with Qatar Charity foundation.

The eye treatment/care service holding in selected hospitals is supervised by eye medical experts with visitations by Board of Directors of the Qatar charity foundation at the outreach centre.
