    FUK Appoints Bayu as Acting Registrar of the University

    The Governing Council of the Federal University of Kashere Gombe State has approved the Appointment of Mal. Umar Faruk Bayu as the Acting Registrar for a period of six months in the first instance, with effect from 15th August 2022 or until such a time that a substantive Registrar is appointed which could be within the specified period.
    His appointment followed the expiration of tenure of the outgoing Registrar, Alhaji Kabiru Garba Aminu who completed his six years tenure as Registrar in the University.
    The appointment letter was signed by the outgoing Registrar, on behalf of the University Governing Council.
    In a brief handing over ceremony, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Mustapha A. Muhamman charged the Ag. Registrar to accept his appointment in good faith and discharge his duties diligently in accordance with the laid down procedures and to also carry every body along.
    While wishing the outgoing Registrar well in his future endeavors, the DVC acknowledged his humility, hard work and patriotism urging him to maintain the sprit.
    Presenting the handover notes to the Ag. Registrar, the out going Registrar Alhaji Kabiru Garba Aminu congratulated him for the opportunity to serve the University in that capacity, advised him to be tolerant and fair in the discharge of his duties so as to justify the confidence reposed in him.
    He appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Prof, Umaru A. Pate and other members of the University Community for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure and assured to remain connected with the University where ever he find himself.
    Responding, the Ag. Registrar, Mal Umar Faruk Bayu, expressed gratitude to the University Governing Council and the Vice Chancellor for finding him worthy of the appointment and promised to justify the trust reposed in him.
    He commended members of the University community for their cooperation and support to the out going Registrar and appealed for similar gesture to enable him discharge his responsibilities successfully, just as he promised to carry all along.
    Mal. Bayu obtained NCE (Tech) Business Education from FCE (T) Gombe in 1991 and B.Sc. Business Administration from University of Maiduguri in 1997. He later obtained Masters Degree (MBA) from ATBU Bauchi in April, 2013. He is a registered member of NIM and ANUPA.
    He started his career with the Nigerian Telecommunications Plc. (NITEL) in 1999 as Officer II (Marketing) where he rose to the rank of Senior Officer II (Marketing) in 2003. Mal. Bayu later moved his services to the National Universities Commission (NUC) in July, 2010 as Senior Personnel Officer.
    He joint the services of FUK as one of the pioneer staff of the University in October, 2010 as Senior Assistant Registrar and rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Registrar in January, 2021.
    Until his new appointment, Mal Umar Faruk Bayu was the Deputy Registrar/ Senior Staff Establishments.
