Crime: Police Parade 11 Students, 20 Others over High Profile Crimes in Abuja

……as IGP declares total war on Cultism

The Police High Command on Wednesday paraded 11 undergraduate students of the Ambrose Ali University, Epkoma, Edo State over alleged  cultism activities and 20 others over alleged high-profile criminal activities ranging from conspiracy, kidnapping to armed robbery in the country

Paradng, the suspects in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer,FPRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said he suspects were arrested by the Operatives of the  Force Intelligence Bureau, Intelligence Response Team, FIB/IRT of  the Inspector-General of Police IGP led by its Commander, Olatunji Disu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP.

The FPRO who was flanked by the Commander of the FIB/IRT squad, DCP Disu said that all the suspects were picked at different locations in the country and that they all confessed their various levels of participation in the criminal  activities upon which they were arrested for

Adejobi who said that the Inspector General of Police,IGP Usman Alkali Baba
has declared a total war against cultism activities in the nation’s educational institutions stated that the undergrade students were picked up by the operatives following credible intelligence information

He explained that various incriminating items including weapons were recovered from them while their leader had also made useful information to the police regarding to their activities

The FPRO also paraded four suspects  who allegedly  murdered a retired Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Bauchi state and member of the Bauchi State Housse of Assembly respectfully

He said that all the suspects have confessed to the killing of the retired Divisional Police Officer DPO CS Garkuwa and a serving lawmaker Hon.Musa Mante of the state House of Assembly.

While the suspects said that they killed the Police officer after his retirement for making life tough and miserable for them by constantly searching for them, they also said that they killed the late lawmker and kidnapped his wives and children for failing to assist them with funds after making several requests for it.

The syndicate’s key suspect is Hamishu Galadima 48 alias Kan Wuka and Abdulwahab Alhassan alias Emeka and Abdulwahab Ahmed alias Dan mama and Hamidu Saleh are kidnappers arrested by the IRT operatives after intelligence reports on the kidnappings, armed robbery and criminal conspiracy were lodged against them by the indegenes of Dass LGA of Bauchi State.

Th FPRO also paraded  three fleeting suspects  who escaped from the Kuje Maximum Security Prison facility of Nigeria Correctional Service NCS on Tuesday July 5, 2022.

He explained that following the jail break and subsequent release of the personal particulars of the fleeing felons in which security agencies were given matching orders to ensure prompt rearrest of the fleeing inmates of the prison, the IRT task its officers to duty leading to their arrest.

Accory to him,the suspects include Abdulrazak Isah m 27 from Ondo State residing in Tafa Local Council Area of Kaduna State, Danjuma Tanko m 50 and Taofeek Alao m 35 a computer system analyst specialised in data analysis who also hail from the same area in Kaduna.

” In his confessional statement, he told the Police team that he actually killed the alien and was 17 years old when he was sentenced to life jail even as a minor at the time of the incident.

” He also told the Police team that his escape from the prison facility was due to the special treatment in terms of feeding and accommodation given to some other prison inmates like Boko Haram detainees while the authorities starve other inmates.

“He also stated that he had served ten years in the prison facility from the time of his imprisonment till the time of the jail break at the midnight of July 5, 2022”

He assured that all the suspect  still undergoing investigation by the Police  would be charged to court for appropriate sanctions
