The Force Commander (FC) MNJTF Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim on Thursday 6 October 2022 paid an operational visit to MNJTF Sector 3 location Baga, Nigeria. He was accompanied by the Deputy Force Commander Brig Gen Assoualai Blama along with other Senior Officers from the HQ MNJTF. He was received on arrival by the Commander Sector 3, Brig Gen Abdulsallam Abubakar, Commander 19 Brigade, Brig Gen EA Orakwe, Commander 401 Special Force Brigade, Brig Gen SM Uba, Commander 403 Amphibious Brigade, Brig Gen IO Bassey, as well as the Operations Officer of the Naval Base Lake Chad. After the traditional courtesies, the FC and his entourage were given detailed briefs by the Commanders 19, 401 SF, 403 Amphibious Brigades and Naval Base Lake Chad. The briefs dwelled on their participation in Operation Lake Sanity and other operational matters, challenges and future intents. In his response, the FC called for a minute silence in honour of fallen comrades in the recently concluded operation and gave guidance on the forth coming operation. He also promised to look at the logistic challenges confronting the various formations with a view to better prepare them for the next operation. The Force Commander added that the just concluded operation had seriously degraded the enemy but there was a need for all the countries of the MNJTF to come together to end the conflict once and for all.

2. The FC and his entourage visited the location of the 196 Amphibious Battalion and the Naval Base Lake Chad at Fish dam. He was briefed by the Commanding Officer of 196 Battalion Maj P Dilli. After the brief, the FC jointly addressed the troops of the location and praised them for their courage, selflessness and perseverance despite the challenging working environment. He assured them of the support of HQ MNJTF and conveyed the greetings of the Head of Mission of the MNJTF and the Chiefs of Defence Staff of the Lake Chad Basin Commission countries.The FC used the opportunity to address the Association of Fishermen and traders in Baga general area where he urged them to continue assisting with useful and timely information about the terrorists within their communities and environs. The FC and his entourage thereafter joined a detachment of 196 Amphibious Battalion and elements of the Naval Base Lake Chad for a joint patrol on the water ways from Fish Dam to Kwatan Turare.
