NUJ, Broadcast Stations Commend PRNigeria’s Strides in Investigative, Humanitarian Reports
The Kano state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended PRNigeria for it’s giant strides in investigative and humanitarian journalism which it described as the core of the profession.
Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists, Kano Chapter, stated this at the NUJ Secretariat while receiving a delegation of PRNigeria young writers and journalists who paid the union an advocacy visit in his office.
“Government is wide they may not have eyes on all that his happening and that is why investigative journalism bridges that gap between the government and the governed,” he said while receiving copies of PRNigeria’s latest investigative expeditions which highlight humanitarian crisis in Niger state.
“The journalism space is expanding and PRNigeria has made a mark. We know how the proprietor started – the hard way – and his name rings a bell today,” Comrade Ibrahim recalled.
While commending the media outfit for having a vibrant team of young professionals, the NUJ Chairman lauded the Arewa Agenda members of the firm for its upcoming 30 under 30 Arewa stars award and conference.

“Journalism is a creative space that is performance driven so it is very essential to carve a nitch for yourselves. We therefore congratulate you on this initiative and we promise to give our support in every way possible,” he stated.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President of NUJ, North West, Mallam Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu appreciated Arewa Agenda for the initiative and urged PRNigeria to sustain its journalism mentorship initiative especially in digital and photojournalism.
In a related development, the Management of Guarantee FM, Kano has attributed the success rate in promoting investigative journalism among young professionals in Kano to PRNigeria.
It’s Manager of News and Current Affairs, Mallam Musa Tijjani, stated this while receiving the PRNigeria team in his office.
While receiving copies of the publication, he assured that the station has promoted and will continue to promote PRNigeria’s investigative reports to achieve synergy and amplification.
He also assured that the station will promote the upcoming Arewa Stars Award to the best of its ability.
Similarly, the Station Manager, Aminci FM Kano assured that the station will key into promoting investigative reports by PRNigeria.
He gave this assurance while receiving the delegation in his office.
The Management of Express radio Kano, while receiving the advocacy team assured of the station’s support in promoting the cause of investigative journalism.
Its Programs Manager Nafisa Murtala Ahmad, noted that despite the COVID-19 challenges, the station never downsized nor owed salaries as it remains a breeding ground for ideas and innovations.
