2023: NSCDC Prepares Officers for Election Duties

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has said personnel of the Corps are expected to understand the strategic dynamics of communication to preserve favourable conditions for free, fair, and credible elections.

Speaking at a 3-day workshop organised for State Commandants, Provost of Training Schools, and Public Relations Officers of the Corps, held at National Headquarters, Abuja, the Commandant said officers must be well equipped to get ready for the challenge of the upcoming elections.

In his remark, Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, who declared the workshop open, assured Nigerians that the security challenge in the country is currently under control adding that security agencies are working tirelessly to bring the lasting solution to security threats.

“The public has a right to know. However, there has to way of disseminating the information strategically as you to all participants.”

Audi, however noted that the operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have arrested no fewer than 200 suspects, 100 jailed, destroyed 50 illegal refineries, and recovered 300 trucks within a year.

On his part, the President, Governing Council, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Mukthar Zubairu Sirajo thanked the NSCDC boss for the laudable initiative at a very critical situation.
