NCoS Controller Strenghten Security in Prisons ahead of Exams in Kwara

The Kwara State Controller of Corrections Salami Abdulraheem Olubamiji today 10th of November 2022, moved round the Custodial Centres in the State to strategies effort at strengthening Security in the Command ahead of the 2022 Promotion interview slated for Wednesday, 16th November 2022 to Tuesday, 22nd November 2022 in Minna Niger State.

The Controller used the medium to appeal to the Officers and Men to be disciplined, committed, and dedicated to duty during the period, to be up and doing in beefing up security in the custodial centres and that any one found wanting will find himself to blame.

He collapsed the three shifts to two shifts and each of the beat to be supervised by a Superintendent for the exam period.

Moreover, He warned those that are not qualified to steer clear of the exam centres. He also proposed that Officers on outside beats, Officers at the State Headquarters office and Officers on leave are summoned to mount various beats in the custodial centres, and promised of rewarding them after the Exam when the qualified officers are back from the exam centres.

Further to this, he said officers on Court duties should not be exempted from performing their duties as expected because of promotion interview, proper attention should be taken to the inmates medical treatment, and preparation of inmates food is paramount, during
the exercise.

Proper head count was conducted for the staff, to ascertain the number of staff qualified for the interview to be replaced by the staff of the headquarters and those from the outside beats.

Finally, He strictly warned the officers to shun all forms of prohibited items and steer clear of trafficking in the custodial centres.
