WSCIJ to Celebrate Investigative Journalists at Media Conference Awards
The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) will on Friday, December 9, 2022, honour investigative journalists from print, electronic, online, cartoon and photo genres for their ethical reporting courage, individual creativity, and public benefit.
This was contained in a statement issued by Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), WSCIJ, Mrs Motunrayo Alaka.
The statement said that the awards is a collaborative effort of representatives of the Media and Journalism (MAJ) cohort of the McArthur Foundation and honours journalists that are enthusiastic about accountability journalism and democracy.
The event, themed “The Amplify In-depth Media Conference Awards”, will be held at NECA House, Hakeem Balogun Street, off Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos with a conference, conversations and debate sessions as well as the 17th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting opening with a conversation on undercover reporting with Anas Anas, Tobore Ovuorie and Fisayo Soyombo.
The public presentation of the award will serve as the closing ceremony.
