Orientation Programme: Prof. Gwarzo Cautions MAAUN Students Against Drug Abuse
The Founder and Chairman, Governing Council of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has warned students of the university against indulging in drug abuse, and other related vices, warning that anyone caught risks outright dismissal.
He gave the warning during the 2022/2023 ‘Freshmen Orientation Program’ held for the newly-admitted students of MAAUN, at the School of Social and Management Sciences (SSMS).
Prof. Gwarzo warned that MAAUN has zero tolerance for drug abuse, hence the reason candidates seeking admission into the institution were subjected to drug test as a prerequisite for gaining admission into their school.
Gwarzo, who is the President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), charged the fresh students to be of excellent moral character, so as to reflect the good image of the institution.
According to him, the students of MAAUN should not only pursue academic excellence, but should be more innovative in order to achieve their lofty dreams in life.
