Naval Boss Wants Nigerians to Show Generosity During Christmas

The Chief Of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, on Saturday reminded Christians to reflect on the generosity from God during this Christmas season and give to the less-privileged.

The Naval boss said this at the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) Christmas Carol Service, themed ‘The King is Born’, held at National Defence College, Abuja.

Gambo was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa, as a Special Guest of honour at the occasion.

He emphasied that the meaning of Christmas shouldn’t end with this period but should constantly be brought to bear in our regular lives.

“Therefore, as we join the world to celebrate this auspicious season, I want to sincerely appreciate NOWA for organising this edition of the Carol Night. I must not fail to commend the zeal and commitment exhibited by the association at sustaining this important and special activity annually”, he added.

On her part, the President of NOWA, Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo, who was represented by the Abuja Zonal Coordinator, Loveleen Lassa, noted that christians should not lose the focus of what is being celebrated.

According to her, Christmas period is a time to forgive, worship and thank God. A time to reflect on the Year 2022 with all its rigours and activities, which are gradually coming to an end.

“Christmas season is a special period celebrated worldwide, that reminds us of God’s love for mankind, it is a time to remember that God fulfilled His promise and sent His son to the earth, it is a time to remember His generosity,” she said.
