Security Spokespersons Strategize On Managing Security Information In Gombe

Spokespersons of various security agencies in Gombe State have held a maiden meeting where they rubbed minds on how to properly manage security information in the state.

The meeting held at the conference hall of Gombe State police headquarters was convened by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command and the participants unanimously resolved to form a network called ‘Military, Police, Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum’ (MILPOPROF) wherein they will be sharing security information gathered by the different agencies with one another.

Declaring the meeting open, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command Mahid Muazu Abubakar explained that the forum was aimed at promoting synergy and harmony among the spokespersons of the various security outfits in the state to ensure efficient and effective communication.

“This is the first time we are having such gathering. This is the first time we are coming together as people who speak for their various agencies, organizations within Gombe State.

“This is all about synergy. Whatever we do, if we don’t recognize the importance of other security agencies, we will not succeed. I believe by coming together, we will be stronger. We will now be speaking with one voice. If any organization speaks on a particular incident, you will hear the same if you go to another agency. That is the kind of harmony we to want to have. That is the purpose of this gathering”. He pointed out.

The special guest at the event and commissioner of police of the state Oqua Etim represented by an Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammed Lawal Yusufu who described the PROs as image makers of all security agencies tasked them to be diligent and mindful of national interest as they relay information to the general public.

“You are the building blocks on how the rest of the society perceive your organizations. Moreover, we are living in an era where fake news, hate speech, full them down syndrome, conspiracy theory are in abundance using the gadgets of technology. It is your calling to give appropriate feedback in order to change that mindset. Now by coming together, you are not only serving your individual organizations but you are also bringing our collective aspirations together”. He stated.
