Mustapha said: “You can always count on my support for the betterment of your union, and I will always stand by the people fighting for the just cause of my people in Kwara Central.
“Employment opportunities and job creation are some of the most important legislative agenda I will be going to the senate with, and this can only be possible if we have a sane society.
“So, I will appeal to this union to please always collaborate with the government, beause only then would we be able to move our society forward”.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, Ilorin, Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu, at the event, said that labour unions are democratic people who are not pro or against democracy.
He made this known in a counter statement to Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, at the two day workshop.
Speaking during the meeting, Abdullahi, said that Labour union is not a pro-democratic organisation, yet members of labour have suddenly become more involved in politics more than politicians.
In his reply to the Kwara PDP Senatorial candidate, Aremu, said members of labour have equal rights to vote and be voted as he urged them to vote in the upcoming elections, saying they are free to participate actively in politics.
He, however, called on Nigerians to uphold the principles of democracy as there is only one candidate in the election which is Nigeria, “and we need it to be as peaceful and sane for the betterment of all”.
