A native of Ankpa LGA in Kogi State, Comdt Imam joined the corps as a pioneer staff in 2005 and has grown through the ranks, serving in various capacities in different states including: Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger and Zone B headquarters, Kaduna State before his elevation to the rank of Commandant of Corps and subsequent deployment as the 14th State Commandant of NSCDC in Akwa Ibom State.

He is happily married with children.
