FG Inaugurates National School Emergency-Response Centre in Abuja
The Federal Government has flagged-off the National School Security and Emergency Response Centre, at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This will help to ensure the safety and security of Nigerian students in schools across the country, PRNigeria learnt.
Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, represented by the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, commissioned the Centre, at the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja.

While delivering his welcome address at the inauguration ceremony, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, said the Security and Emergency Response Centre was established to coordinate the efforts of various security agencies in providing quick and effective responses in emergency situations.
Audi, said that the Federal Government has unveiled measures to tackle the spate of attacks on school facilities across the country, for uninterrupted teaching and learning activities.
Mrs. Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, in her remarks, explained that the initiative is part of the proactive strategies for ensuring schools’ safety.
She said: “This will help provide a secure and safe environment for students and teachers to engage in their businesses of teaching and learning”.
