Insecurity: Irabor Tasks Military Personnel on Physical Fitness

Insecurity: Irabor Tasks Military Personnel on Physical Fitness

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Lucky Irabor, has called on military personnel and men of other security agencies to always prioritize their physical fitness.

According to him, doing so will make them remain in good physical and mental state of mind to discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

Irabor, gave the charge during the commemoration of the International Military Sports Council Day, held at the Guards Brigade Sports Complex in Aguiyi-Ironsi Cantonment, in Abuja, on Saturday.

The CDS, represented by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshall JA Yusuf, said that the leadership of the military alongside other security units across the country is committed to fostering friendship among its personnel through sporting activities.

He said, “you are the champions of security in Nigeria and Africa at large. Your contributions are appreciated by all and sundry and the country believes in your tireless commitment to protecting the territorial integrity of Nigeria.”

According to him, the Military Sports Council Day is remarked to commemorate the end of the second World War, as a symbol of the peace which is achieved through sporting activities.

In his remark, Air Vice Marshall K. Aliyu said that the 2023 International Military Sports Council Day is coming at a time the Nigerian Military has achieved success in the fight against terrorism in the country.

Aliyu appreciated Irabor for his immense support to the military as well as other security agencies across the country, adding that his leadership has resulted in enormous progress in the military service.
