Guber Elections: How APC, PDP Captured 20 States, Rivers, Kaduna, 7 Others Undecided

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the New Nigerian Peoples Party N, have emerged as Governors-Elect in the 2023 general elections.

PRNigeria reports that gubernatorial polls were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in 28 States, across the country.

The elections, held last Saturday, produced new State Chief Executives and also returned few others for a second term in office.

The governorship elections took place alongside the State House of Assembly polls across the 36 States of the Federation.

But PRNigeria reports that INEC returning officers have only announced the governorship results of 20 States so far, by Monday evening.

While results of the guber polls in Kaduna, Zamfara, Rivers, and Taraba States are yet to be officially announced by INEC, that of Kebbi and Adamawa were declared Inconclusive.

The apex electoral body also suspended the collation of results in Enugu and Abia States, after political thugs disrupted the process.
