New Customs Spokesperson Commends PRNigeria‘s Mentorship Programmes for Youngsters, Seeks Partnership

The newly appointed spokesperson of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, has expressed the desire to partner with PRNigeria, a subsidiary of Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), to enhance the capacity of its personnel on modern, professional Public Relations practice.

This proposed partnership, he said, is part of the Service’s efforts to improve its operations and ensure better service delivery.

Maiwada commended the management of PRNigeria for helping to nurture the career of many young Nigerian journalists and building the best public relations experts for the future.

The new Customs image maker said these when he led some of the officers in the PR unit on a courtesy visit to the Abuja headquarters of PRNigeria.

According to Maiwada, “PRNigeria has remained steadfast in offering sound mentorship to young journalists to develop their communication skills in empirical PR practices in recent times.”

He solicited support on capacity building, training, and development of personnel in the areas of communication and public relations. This would enable the Service to effectively communicate its activities and policies to the public.

Maiwada said the visit to PRNigeria was timely and strategic as it was meant to help the Service design and implement a comprehensive training program for Customs personnel that will cover areas such as crisis management and media relations among others.

While welcoming his guests, Mal. Yushau Shuaib, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, expressed the desire to collaborate with the NCS as part of measures to sustain the legacy of being the most credible and consistent PR outfit in the country.

He noted that the partnership was in line with PRNigeria‘s commitment to promoting best practices in communication and public relations in Nigeria and beyond.

Shuaib listed the achievements and the award-winning campaigns they had executed over the years through consultancy services and the deployment of communication tools and technologies to enhance the Service’s communication capabilities.

In his goodwill message, the Managing Editor of the Economic Confidential, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulraheem, thanked the Custom’s spokesperson and his entourage for the visitation.

He said the visit to PRNigeria is expected to yield positive results in the coming months, and further strengthen the relationship between the Service and its stakeholders.
