MNJTF Commander Urges Troops in Monguno to End Activities Boko Haram ISWAP

MNJTF Commander Urges Troops in Monguno to End Activities Boko Haram ISWAP

The Force Commander (FC) Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Maj Gen GU Chibuisi paid a maiden Operational visit to Headquarters Sector 3 MNJTF Monguno on Wednesday 26 April 2023. The Commander Sector 3 MNJTF Maj Gen PAO Okoye led the FC accompanied by the Deputy Force Commander Brig Gen Assoualai Blama and other senior officers to the conference room where FC was given a detailed brief on the activities of Sector.

In his remarks, the FC stated that the Sector has shown high level of commitment, dedication, preparedness and responsive to rout out the remnants of BH/ ISWAP Terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region. The FC said the Sector should continue to perform its task with optimum zeal in other to ensure that the MNJTF’s mandate is actualized in no distance time.

Speaking further, he urged the Sector to work assiduously in collaboration with other sectors in bringing the BH ISWAP activities to an end. Adding that the MNJTF would continue to give the required supports and evolve a measure that would improve and strengthen the already existing relationship. According to the FC ” We must continue to collaborate on counter terrorism and Insurgency activities in winning the ongoing War against terrorists activities.

2. Earlier, the Commander Sector 3 MNJTF Monguno Ñigeria Maj Gen PAO Okoye congratulated the FC Maj Gen GU Chibuisi for his well deserved appointment saying that the FC requisite experience will add value to the ongoing fight against terrorists activities in the Lake Chad Basin region.
Gen Okoye attributed the successes recorded by the Sector to an exceptional supports received from MNJTF especially the logistics that aided series’of training and operations conducted.

3. In a related development, the FC paid a visit to the Forward Operation Base at Charamari where he applauded the renewed commitment and vigour by the troops towards ensuring peace and security in the area. He praised the pragmatic leadership that has helped in piloting the affairs of the command. The FC said the platform has operate seamlessly and effectively in the quest to end the activities of terrorists in the area. Therefore, new innovations and strategies will be harnessed to boost the operational efficiency of the location.

In his welcome remarks, the Commanding officer Lt Col AD Abdullahi thanked the FC for the visit and further expressed the commitment of the troops in bringing an end to the terrorists activities in the area. He said the strategic adopted has effectively weaken the Insurgents and promised to pursue more coordinated efforts to ensure that the desired objectives of the MNJTF is achieved. The visit was hitch free.
