NCoS Promotes 17,636 Prison Personnel

NCoS Promotes 17,636 Prison Personnel

In a bid to motivate officers and men of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) for efficient service delivery, the Civil Defence Corrections Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) as well as the Controller General of Corrections (CGC) have released the promotion of 17,636 officers and men across board, in its 2022 promotion exercise.

In a letter number CDCFIB/S.33/VOL.VIII dated 24th May, 2023 from CDCFIB 10,131 officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corrections to Assistant Controller of Corrections benefited from the exercise. On the other hand, the Controller General of Corrections (CGC), Haliru Nababa FICMC, MFR, mni approved the promotion of 7,505 junior officers.

In his congratulatory message, Nababa, charged the beneficiaries to see the elevation as an opportunity to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.The CG admonished the beneficiaries to note that promotion comes with additional responsibility; hence, it is expected of them to brace up to the tasks ahead. He also called on those that did not benefit this time not to feel bad as more opportunities abound in the future.

The Corrections boss reiterated that the Service will not relent in its commitment towards improving the welfare of staff as well as promoting reformation and rehabilitation of inmates in custody.
