Nigerian Military, Security Agencies to Ensure Safety of Schools in Zamfara

The Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau/Sector 1 Joint Task Force Northwest Operation HADARIN DAJI, Brigadier General S Ahmed has expressed confidence at ensuring a secured learning environment for the Management and Students of Federal University Gusau and all other Institution of learning Zamfara state.

He disclosed this at the Headquarters 1 Brigade Gusau during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor Federal University Gusau (FUG) Professor Muazu Abubakar Gusau and management team, including Hon Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Gusau/Tsafe Constituency.

General Ahmed stressed that to enhance security of FUG and the students residing outside the school campus, the the Army in conjunction with other security agencies will work together to provide robust security for the students. He also stated that efforts will be put together to ensure a secured environment and maintain lasting peace and harmony in the state. The Commander assured the Vice Chancellor FUG that the Brigade has built synergy with other security agencies, traditional rulers and government functionaries amongst others to bring back sanity to the society.

Brigadier General Ahmed added that the Nigerian military will continue to employ the use of technology to tackle the security challenges bedeviling the state and assured that all forms of terrorism activities in the state will be curtailed totally.

Relatedly on the same day, the Commander 1 Brigade, Brig Gen S Ahmed has charged the Commander Nigerian Hunter and Forest Security Service Zamfara state, Mallam Suleiman Sanusi Zurmi and his members for more collaboration on information gathering and enhanced protection of the large forest used as hideout by the Bandits during their courtesy visit to Headquarters 1 Brigade.

Gen Ahmed assured the Hunters and Forest Security that they will operate in conjuction with the Nigerian Army to ensure the protection of all ungoverned spaces and numerous forests in Zamfara state. He also assured the groups of adequate protection and synergy while carrying out their responsibilities.

The Commander 1 Brigade, Brig Gen S Ahmed further reiterated the importance of taking control of all ungoverned spaces and forests, this is to ensure the safety of farmers and communities in close proximity with these Forests.
