DEPOWA Imparts Vocational Skills on 20 Youths, Donates Foodstuffs to Widows
About 20 youths have been trained on various vocational trades such as cosmetology, make-up, and gele tying, cosmetics, detergent production, and hairdressing.
The training was sponsored by the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), in Abuja, PRNigeria gathered.
PRNigeria reports that about 60 widows were also presented with food items.
Speaking at the ceremony, today, the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa noted that education and skill acquisitions are fundamental pillars for personal and societal development.

He said the skills acquired by the members of DEPOWA signify their unwavering commitment to self-improvement and their determination to create a better future for themselves and their families.
The DEPOWA President, Mrs. Oghogho Musa in her welcome address, said the DEPOWA Skills Acquisition n programmes and other humanitarian and social intervention programmes are geared towards aligning with the non-kinetics campaigns of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
She maintained that kinetic and non-kinetic campaigns are part and parcel of military strategies used to win the war against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminalities bedeviling our nation Nigeria.
She urged the graduates to ensure that they put to practice the skills that they have acquired to become self-reliant, industrious, and above all employers of labour.
In her remarks, the Former President of DEPOWA, Barrister Mrs. Vickie Irabor urged the graduands to deploy skills acquired into practice to become self-reliant, industrious, and above all employers of labour.
