Niger Governor Condoles NAF Over Jet Crash, Seeks Additional Troops’ Deployment
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed his condolences to the Nigerian Air Force over the crash of its MI-171 Helicopter in Chukuba community in Shiroro local government area of the State.
He made the call when he paid a condolence visit to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Governor described the incident as shocking and worrisome.
Bago said the deployment of the Air Force personnel would help in having more rapid response to any security threat.

He assures the Nigerian Air Force of his administration’s readiness to support the service and other security agencies in the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality.
Governor Bago encouraged them not to relent in sustaining the fight against criminalities.
PRNigeria had reported on Monday that the Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter crashed around Chukuba village in Shiroro local government area of the state after it departed Zungeru Primary School en route to Kaduna.
On his part, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar applauded the Governor for the visit and reiterated his service commitment and undaunted in their efforts to eradicate the security challenges perpetrated by the non-state actors.
Abubakar also identified the Government approach as key in addressing the Security challenges and called on Nigerians to support the Armed Forces through information sharing.
