President Tinubu Appoints Yakubu, Adedeji for NSIPA, FIRS

President Tinubu Appoints Yakubu, Adedeji for NSIPA, FIRS

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs Delu Yakubu as the pioneer National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) and Zacch Adelabu Adedeji as the new Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Confirming the appointments, the Presidential Spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, said the appointment of Mrs Yakubu was subject to the Senate confirmation while that of Adedeji is in acting capacity for a 90-day period before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service for a term of four (4) years in the first instance.

The National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) (Establishment) Act, 2023, was signed into law on May 22. 2023.

Yakubu is a recipient of a Masters Degree in agronomy from the State University of Bio-Technology in Kharkiv, Ukraine, with over 15 years of working experience in Social Investment Programme management.

Adedeji is a First Class graduate of Management and Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state. He later bagged a Masters of Science degree in Accounting from the same University.

Adedeji was appointed the Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021 before his appointment as the Special Adviser to the President Tinubu on Revenue.
