IMPR Commends Customs Boss for Impactful PR, Outstanding Performance

The multi-award winning communication outfit, Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), has commended the acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his outstanding performance since his appointment three months ago.

The Managing Director of IMPR, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, made the commendation when the NCS boss paid a courtesy visit to the PRNigeria Centre in Abuja.

IMPR is the publisher of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, Spokesperson’s Digest and other titles.

Shuaib said as a media house that is interested in the pursuit of truthful reporting and development journalism, PRNigeria had in the last 90 days been taking note of a lot of activities of Mr. Adeniyi in repositioning the agency towards greatness within a short time in office.

He added that the agency’s goodwill and reputation are top notch and this is due to the impactful performance of the Acting CG and the use of sound Public Relations strategies.

“We have noticed with admiration how deployed strategic communication components including effective media relations, proactive stakeholders engagement, timely social media management and healthy inter-agency colloborations that enhance efficiency in service delivery.”

The PRNigeria boss added that his firm will be willing to give the agency institutional support in the areas of crisis communication, reputation management, third party narratives, press review and periodic media interventions which will further shore up the image of the organisation.

In his remarks, the Customs boss applauded IMPR for the opportunity given to young people to build and develop their talents in the media house.

Adeniyi also commended the organisation for promoting fact-checking as a professional practice and helping to reduce the menace of misinformation and disinformation in Nigeria.

He said that having spent 90 days in office, it is the right time to seek collaboration with stakeholders and strengthen strategic relationships that will help the
organisation achieve its mandate.

He added that among these key partners, the media is top on the list, saying the agency will continue to run an open-door system that will also help the journalists do their jobs better.

As a Public Relations expert before his elevation, he said the NCS is looking forward to establishing internship prgrammes for interested Universities in Nigeria to enable students to come and learn and have first-hand experience of PR practice.

Mr. Adeniyi, a seasoned PR practitioner is a Fellow and immediate Vice President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
