Borno Police Engage Stakeholders on IGP’s Visions

Borno Police Engage Stakeholders on IGP’s Visions

The commissioner of Police Borno State Command CP ML Yusufu has organizes SPO’s conference with the members of his Management team, Area Commanders, Heads of Department and DPO’s at the state headquarters conference hall Maiduguri, the conference was necessitated to cascade IGPs message to officers and men of the command. The following informations, messages and directives were delivered during the conference:

1. All officers of the command must be professional in their conducts while discharging their duties, and must eschew all forms of corruption and other unprofessional conducts.

2. Special Intervention Squad (SIS): In an efforts to resolve and ensure that all forms of violent crimes in Nigeria are adequately identified, prepared for and tackled, and in line with IGP earlier directive for the establishment of a 40,000-strong Special Intervention Squad, a team of 25 trainers and instructors from various police command were formed to provide relevant training in the Special Intervention Squad program, an initiative aimed at equipping personnel with advanced skills and techniques for handling complex security challenges across the country

3. Officers are warned to adhere to police social media policy and desist from posting pictures on uniform or disclosing their identity in whatsoever manner on social media and the internet

4. Safe Schools Initiative outlined by the IGP is in line with the commitment to ensuring the safety of educational institutions across the country, the IGP will soon be commencing the deployment of technology in the operational activities of all School Protection Squad, Similarly, the CP said the IGP has launched the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) manual for the Schools Protection Squad (SPS) on August 9, 2023.all these are aimed at safeguarding schools and educational institutions nationwide.

5. NPF Gender Policy; the CP stated that the IGPs efforts aimed at promoting gender inclusivity and enhancing professional development within the Nigeria Police Force should not be taken for granted, he has approved a reviewed Gender Policy for the Nigeria Police Force which was recently launched to cater for the gender sensitivity of our present challenges.

6. Digitalization of the central motor registry (CMR).the CP added that CMR would soon be launched in all the state commands across the nations as stated by the IGP.

During the conference the command was honoured to welcome a senior police advisor from ADAM SMITH INTERNATIONAL, MR KEVIN HURLEY who Lectured the officers of the command on “The Strategic Constable”.

In a similar vein the commissioner of police CP ML YUSUFU uses the opportunity to hand over the contributions and dues from officers of the command to the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) to strengthen their activities . The acting chair person of the association, Barrister Zara Muhammed while speaking on behalf of the members appreciated the CP for his commitment and objectivity in discharging his duties.

The CP finally thanked the officers for their relentless effort and urged them to do more and ensure that the information is properly dessiminated to the officers and men at the lower level.
