DEPOWA President Urges Soldiers’ Wives to Embrace Regular Exercise to Boost Health
The President of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Musa, has urged wives of officers and men of the armed forces to engage in regular physical exercise for healthy living.
Mrs. Musa made the call at the DEPOWA Route March/Aerobics Exercise to mark Cancer Awareness Month on Saturday in Abuja.
“Regular exercise is essential for everyone, but it is especially important for soldiers’ wives,” said Mrs. Musa.
“They play a vital role in supporting their husbands and families, and they often have to take on additional responsibilities when their husbands are away on deployment.

“Exercise can help soldiers’ wives to reduce stress, improve their mood, and boost their immune system. It can also help them to maintain a healthy weight and reduce their risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer,” he added.
PRNigeria reports that DEPOWA Route March/Aerobics Exercise was attended by women from all the services and police associations. The participants marched and performed a variety of aerobic exercises, including jumping jacks, squats, and lunges.
Mrs. Musa also unveiled a new DEPOWA tracksuit, which she encouraged the women to wear when exercising.
“We have agreed that bi-monthly, we are going to continue this walk and want to let you know that today we have already done over 6000 steps and so by the end of the day, you would have done over 10,000 and that is the minimum.
“We must be able to do 10,000 steps each day so that will be free from all forms of diseases with God helping us.
