Islamic Cleric Urges Obedience to Parents, True Brotherhood at College’s Public Lecture
Students have been urged to give back to their society by the time they achieve stardom in life, through divine ordination.
The call was made in Kano on Sunday at the 6th Annual Public Lecture of Excel College Kano.
The lecture with the theme; “Ways of Seeking Barakah (From Early Age)” was delivered by Sheikh Abdullah Musa Abdul [PenAbdul].
Sheikh Abdul, who was the Guest Speaker, also harped on the need for the children to be obedient and dutiful to their parents by doing what pleased them [parents] provided it does not go against the teaching of Islam.
Mr. Abdul further enjoined attending participants and the entire Muslims Ummah to always be their brothers’ keepers by extending assistance to the needy as such gestures will attract God’s favour upon oneself.
“We should always be kind and good to our neighbors especially the vulnerable members of the community. The evil in us is what is preventing us from enjoying the goodness of Allah.

“Because whenever you give Sadaqah [alm] to somebody, God will reward and equally open more ways of opportunities for you.” Sheikh Abdul added.
In his remarks, the Royal Father of the Day and Chairman of the Occasion, Alhaji Mustapha Kawu Yahya who holds the traditional title of ‘Dan Isan Lapai’, commended the giant strides of Excel College Management towards propagating Islamic practices by organizing this kind of gatherings.
“I want use this medium to call on our dear children to put into practice all what has been discussed here.” He added.
On her part, the Director of the College, Hajiya Asmau U. Yahaya, explained that the essence of the lecture is to nurture the minds and souls of the students towards imbibing the culture of Islamic teachings.
She further added that this development is parts of the school management efforts towards prioritizing and entrenching Islamic practices through Islamiyyah classes where students are train on how to recite and memorize the holy Quran.
“Another importance of this lecture is that the children will surely serve as vanguard in transmitting the lessons learnt here to their peers thereby sensitizing the minds of entire community as whole.” She added.
