Military Troops Thwart Terrorists attacks,  67 Kill

Military Troops Thwart Terrorists, Bandits attacks,  67 Kill

The military troops have thwarted the activities of terrorists and bandits in several operations within the last one week, killing 67 criminals and rescuing 47 kidnapped hostages.

The Defense Spokesman, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, said in a statement on Friday in Abuja that the operations were conducted in the North West, North East, and North Central zones.

Buba said that troops also recovered 112 assorted weapons and 989 assorted ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, locally fabricated rifles, and pump action guns.

He also said that 23 vehicles, 33 motorcycles, 31 mobile phones, and the sum of N3.2 million were recovered.

Giving a breakdown of the operations, Buba said that troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East neutralized 42 terrorists, apprehended 15, and rescued 10 kidnapped hostages.

In the North Central, troops of Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke neutralized seven terrorists, apprehended 23, and rescued 17 kidnapped hostages.

In the North West, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji neutralized five terrorists, arrested four, and rescued five kidnapped hostages.

Troops of Operation Whirl Punch also neutralized two terrorists, arrested seven suspects, and rescued two kidnapped hostages.

The military has vowed to continue to deny terrorists, insurgents, and violent extremists the ability to achieve their selfish objectives, adding that their days are numbered.
