INTERNATIONAL FRAUDWEEK: CIFCFIN Hosts Fraud Awareness Week in Abuja
The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria CIFCFIN, FCT Chapter is holding a week long fraud awareness activities, beginning from Sunday November 12 to Saturday, November 18 , 2023 to mark this year’s International Fraud Awareness Week.
A statement signed by the Ag Registrar/ CEO and the Chairman, FCT Chapter President, Dr Isa Salifu, said the International Fraud Awareness Week is lined up with series of activities to mark the event.

The event hashtag #FRAUDWEEK witnessed an awareness program with an ‘awareness walk’ led by Dr Salifu, the Ag. Registrar/CEO, along with other Officials of CIFCFIN, from the Forensics House, the Headquarters of the Institute. The walk which took place Tuesday, November 14 in Gwarinpa, Abuja, the nation’s city was to showcase the essence, which primarily is the fight against fraud and its ‘dangers’ to our collective existence, organizations and communities. The Ag. Registrar noted that, fraud is a monster that must be tamed. That CIFCFIN is leading the vanguard in this crusade.
According to the program, there was a planned convergence of members of the Institute and like minds, including other stakeholders and experts in Forensic and Fraud Investigation at the Fountain Unity Square, Maitama, Abuja, also this Tuesday. However, this activity could not take place because of the Labour strike. The Chapter, according to Dr Salifu, will be having a seminar on Wednesday at the Audit House, where experts will speak to ‘fighting fraud ‘ as part of the fraud awareness week.
An activity to climax the week long event, will be a world press conference by the Pioneer President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Dr IB Gashinbaki on the need to sustain the fight against fraud for the betterment of our society. This World press conference is slated for 9am on Thursday at the Forensics House, Abuja
The organisers enjoined Nigerians of the need for all and sundry to “become fraud fighters”, aimed at ensuring a better and egalitarian society for everyone
