Military Launches Manhunt for Terrorists Behind Attack on Yobe Governor
The Defence Headquarters has launched a manhunt for the terrorists who attacked the convoy of the Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Saturday evening.
PRNigeria gathered that the convoy was heading to Damaturu, the state capital, from Maiduguri, where the governor had attended the University of Maiduguri’s convocation ceremony.
Although Governor Buni was not in the convoy, several top government officials, including Secretary to the Yobe State Government Baba Wali and Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, were traveling with the convoy.
In a release by the Director, Defence Media Operation, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba noted that,
“At around 6:30 PM, the convoy was ambushed by terrorists about six kilometers from Benesheikh town along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road.
