COAS Lagbaja Assesses Troops’ Combat Readiness in Benue
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has charged troops of 401 Special Forces Brigade Makurdi, Benue, to remain disciplined and professional while discharging their constitutional responsibilities.
Lagbaja gave the charge during an operational visit to Benue on Thursday as part of his working tour of Nigerian Army formations and units across the country.
This is contained in a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, on Thursday in Abuja.

Nwachukwu said the duty tour would enable the COAS to assess the combat readiness of the troops in the effort to reinvigorate ongoing operations to effectively mitigate security challenges in the country.
While addressing the troops, Lagbaja commended the them for their sacrifices and service to the nation.
He urged them to continue to give their best to maintain peace and stability of the nation.
The COAS used the visit to inaugurate a 7.5 kilometre road constructed by the Nigerian Army Engineers in the Joe Akahan Military Cantonment, to improve the barracks infrastructure.
He urged the barracks community to cherish and maintain the road, adding that army would strive to provide more infrastructure and social amenities to bring succour to soldiers and their families.
