Promotion: Army warns officers against Exam malpractice

The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC), Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, has warned candidates of the 2024 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) to shun examination malpractice.

Aligbe, who is the Examination President, gave the warning while addressing the officers at the venue, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos Plateau.

This is contained in a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, on Tuesday.

Aligbe reiterated that the army maintained zero tolerance for examination malpractice, warning that the consequence of such offence was a heavy sanction that would alter their progression in the Nigerian army.

He reminded the candidates that the examination was one of the series of professional military education designed to enhance their proficiency and leadership capabilities.

Aligbe urged them to inculcate the core values of the army on the young officers, adding that the examination would also test their discipline and courage that would define their career progression in the army.

He said that the examination was in tandem with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, which is “To transform Nigerian Army into well trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment”.

Aligbe assured the candidates of fairness and openness in the conduct of the examination by the panelists and the directing staff.

In his welcome remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division, and Commander Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, Maj.-Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, urged the candidates to maintain decorum and discipline during the examination.

He said that the examination was a catalyst in shaping their career progression, expandiing their knowledge and understanding of various aspects of military operations that would enhance their performance in the ongoing operations across the country.

“Your performance in this examination is crucial for your career development,” he said.
