A development Journalist and the Public Relations Officer of Kaura Namoda Focus Forum, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the persistent power supply affecting Kaura Namoda community of Zamfara state.

In the open letter addressed to President Tinubu, Kaura urged swift intervention to address what he termed as the injustice faced by the people of Kaura Namoda.
He called on the Federal Government, the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Consumer Protection Council, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to hold Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) accountable for its negligence and ensure the restoration of reliable electricity supply to the community.

“Despite being a vital business center and home to the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, the lack of reliable electricity supply has hampered productivity and jeopardized livelihoods.
“Residents have endured minimal electricity supply, with some days experiencing as little as three hours of power, even during the holy month of Ramadan,” reads part of the letter.
Abdulrazak Bello Kaura highlighted the frustration and despair felt by residents, who have diligently paid their electricity bills only to face unjust billing and continuous blackouts.
He argued that despite numerous complaints, appeals, and pleas to relevant authorities, including the Federal Government, the situation remains dire, leaving residents feeling neglected and marginalized.
He said the appeal has also been forwarded to the state Governor, Dauda Lawal, Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u of Zamfara North senatorial district, and the Member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency.
“As the people of Kaura Namoda await a response, they remain hopeful that President Tinubu will heed their call for justice and intervene to alleviate their suffering,” the journalist added.
