Nigerian Army Officers Wives Seek continuous Support

In a bid to strengthen ties and foster collaboration, the Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 1 Division Chapter, Mrs. Ada Lander David Saraso, visited the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigeria Army and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Maj Gen MLD Saraso.

She led the visit on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 1 Division Headquarters, Dalet Barracks, Kaduna.

Accompanied by members of NAOWA, Mrs. Saraso expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, for the appointment of Maj Gen Saraso as the GOC.

She commended the GOC for his well-deserved appointment and extended heartfelt condolences to the officers, soldiers, and families of the Nigerian Army over the recent tragic incident in Okuama community, Delta State.

During the visit, Mrs. Saraso emphasized the crucial role the association plays in providing support to the less privileged, widows, orphans, and other vulnerable members of the barracks community and society at large.

She also acknowledged the strategic leadership of NAOWA President, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, and sought continuous support from the Division.

Responding, Maj Gen MLD Saraso warmly welcomed Mrs. Saraso and her delegation and appreciated NAOWA’s unwavering support and prayers for their spouses.

He recognized the sacrifices made by army wives and pledged to remodel the NAOWA secretariat in Ribadu Cantonment and create more classrooms for the benefit of children and the barracks community.

Maj Gen Saraso reiterated the Division’s commitment to supporting NAOWA and other stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving their noble objectives.
